January 1994 saw the creation of Polti’s cycling team, originally led by Gianni Bugno and Abdujaparov. Since then several champions have contributed to the Polti Team’s success, and in 1999 Ivan Gotti won the Giro d’Italia, Guidi wore the blue shirt in the Giro, and Virenque wore the spotted shirt in the Tour de France, while the team won the SuperTeam prize in the overall point ranking of the Giro d’Italia.

Polti Days
Polti now promotes Gran Fondo Polti Days, a long distance cycling race held every September. This year’s event has more than 1000 participants, with the participation of prominent people from the world of sports. For more information on this year’s competition, go to www.poltidays.com.
