- Separate out colours and whites.
- Always wash whites separately: washing them with yellow fabrics will give them a yellow tinge; washing them with red garments will turn them pink.
- Treat stains with a whitening product/pre-wash solution - ideal for collars and cuffs, which are often difficult to get clean. HP007 is an eco-friendly stain removing solution. To discover the advantages visit the “accessories” page in the product section.
- Clothes which tend to lose fluff should be turned inside out.
- Empty pockets, do up zips and buttons and tie laces and ribbons.
- Put lingerie or delicate garments in a string bag or pillow case.
- Make sure coloured smalls don't find their way into a white wash.
- Choose the most environmentally-friendly cycle: 60° is hot enough for all non-delicate loads. Concentrated, more powerful detergents mean that 90° washes are no longer necessary, unless you are fortunate enough to have a baby in the house (baby clothes should be partly sterilised).
- 30° is more than enough for all delicate fabrics and dark/colour washes (with no stains).
- Only use the pre-wash cycle on extremely dirty clothes
