Better hygiene, better health. In our homes and in African villages.
This is the inspiration behind the charity initiative in which Polti and the Lecologico range are in the front lines along with the non-profit association Il Sole, working together for the second year running to give children in the villages of Burkina Faso a “Wishing well”.
This drinking water well with a hand pump will allow the entire population, but most importantly the children, to drink, wash and enjoy more hygienic living conditions.
Digging a well in the village means that children no longer need to spend their days carrying heavy drums of water from far-off wells, most of which yield only dirty, stagnant water.
The “Wishing well” gives them cleaner, safer water close at hand.
Making their wishes come true. For every Lecologico we sell (models AS805, AS 807 and Special Parquet), Polti donates a sum to the Il Sole non-profit association to help build drinking water wells in the villages of Burkina Faso.
The first well was installed in March 2009 in the village of Sahongo. Polti now wants to dig a second well in the village of TANGSEIGA, also in Burkina Faso.
